Kwikstream’s 7 Step Process

‘Homestead Homes are the only builders with Kwikstream, the streamlined administration and approval process that means your home is ready to begin construction sooner, potentially saving you thousands of dollars in reduced rent, storage and associated costs. You’ll feel informed and involved in each stage of the design, costing and administration and not left “outside the loop”.

STEP 1: Meet your Home Building Consultant

You meet one of our Home Building Consultants and complete a Client Needs Profile. This is where we uncover all the design and building features that are important to you.

STEP 2: Design & costing phase

On top of Homestead’s comprehensive standard specifications, you can add other features to the plan. These are all documented following our simple but thorough pricing system. During this design and costing phase your home building consultant will confirm your design considerations to ensure your home includes the window and room sizes and perfectly meets your requirements.

STEP 3: Preparation of plans

The complete documentation is compiled and we arrange for a structural Engineer to survey and soil test your allotment enabling us to prepare a footing design specific to your block. During the preparation of these reports our drafting department will draw the plans including elevation. The plans are then carefully checked against your written requests.

STEP 4: Colour selection process

Your Home Building Consultant then brings you the plans in a personalised Building File, along with a Colour Pack (in preparation for the colour selection process). They will go through each room and elevation with you to ensure that the plans meet all of your requirements. The plans are then certified and the Building Contract signed.

STEP 5: Administration phase

Final engineering is then completed so your plans can be immediately lodged with your local council for planning consent.

STEP 6: Applications & approvals

Upon receipt of your homes planning consent you will be allocated a Client Services Coordinator for the entire administration process to give you regular updates, obtain the necessary approvals, answer any of your queries and guide you through your colour and material selections in our Selection Centre. When all approvals are in place we are ready to start construction.

STEP 7: Building commences on your new home

When the building process begins, you will have direct access to your Building Supervisor and, because Homestead site managers only have a limited number of jobs to manage, you will be kept well-informed at each stage of construction with regular site meetings from slab pour to a detailed and comprehensive handover process on completion of your new home.
